Springtime // Poem

Mornings are no longer dark and dreary

Sunlight through the curtains dims the room

Warmth, coupled with a slight breeze — the temperature is just perfect

Iced coffees will begin to become habitual now

Sit in the sun with your little one, mother says

Let me oil your hair

Let’s go for a walk

Everything seems happier

Love is different too

There is something different in the air

But maybe, it’s just me loving you differently, all over again

Perhaps, springtime calls for a renewed sort of love

I step outside

Unfamiliar scents in the air

Flowers a few days shy from blooming

I can stand here without shivering

The sun embraces me, the warmth fills my body

Rejuvenated, refreshed, renewed

Springtime is here
